Des Moines has a sizeable Latino community. Now, to my way of thinking, Mexican or other Latin-type food has generally included CORN (maize) as opposed to FLOUR tortillas...
And yet, when I'm looking for corn tortillas they're nearly impossible to find, while the market has a GLUT of flour tortillas...
And going to a Mexican restaurant so many of the dishes are made with flour tortillas. What the HELL is up with that? Somebody tell me where I can get authentic Mexican food that does NOT involve flour tortillas, please!
And barring the fact that the majority of Des Moines is caucasian, why is it so nearly impossible to find good corn tortillas in the flipping store?
This is Gretl's perplexity for the day.
Now I go to Sea Breeze my face which is greasy from eating cold Mexican food from last night...
